Blue Hill Supports our Clients While They Transition to a New Platform

Blue Hill Clients remain with Blue Hill because of the successful partnerships we create and the quality and flexibility of the services we provide. Obtaining 100% Client satisfaction is a priority of Blue Hill’s and one of the reasons our clients extend and renew their contracts term after term.

The rare occurrence of a client transitioning away from Blue Hill is due to either migrating off the Mainframe platform, or in connection with an acquisition or merger.

During these transition periods, while client staff is focused on its core business projects, the Blue Hill team members support and maintain the clients’ day-to-day operations. Acting as an extension of the client’s IT department, our skilled team members communicate with the client on a regular basis. This assures the client that their Mainframe platform and workloads are being properly supported and are meeting or exceeding service levels. Blue Hill’s support services include hardware engineering, technical systems support, capacity planning, performance monitoring, production control, job scheduling, console operations, business continuity, etc.

In some cases, transitioning to a new platform can take several years. Blue Hill will maintain and support our client’s existing OS version level ‘as-is’ without forcing an upgrade. Our guarantee is to deliver cost effective and flexible solutions, as applications are migrated off the Mainframe and resource utilization is reduced.

Blue Hill has formal disengagement processes and procedures managed by the Account Manager, which includes all required security activities, final backups, disposition of physical or virtual tapes, DASD wipe or destruction, etc.

As a result of such successful partnerships with our clients, often, Blue Hill clients transition off the Mainframe platform and host the newly transitioned applications within Blue Hill’s server/cloud infrastructure. We also provide dedicated ‘read-only’ Mainframe environments for archived historical data, to be available to the client when required.
